Can’t get a good pastrami sandwich anywhere near me so I ordered a pound from Katz Deli and made my own. Someday I hope to have one at the Deli until then this will have to do.

Eating in the deli is quite the experience, but eating it on my couch is probably my favorite. Perfect munch / nap ratio.

How does the quality of the sandwich compare to eating in the shop? I’ve eaten there and love it and have thought about the mail order thing but have hesitated because my [unproven] assumption is that the slicing and tenderness of that meat from the steam table isn’t going to be close. Anyone have any experience having had both?

I’ve eaten at Katz’s multiple times and I love the food and atmosphere. I almost always get pastrami when im there. Last year while recovering from a surgery, one of my partners had a care package from Katz’s shipped to me. I was extremely pleased with how good it was (and it even came with mustard and pickles).

I just saw the commercial the other night for their mail order and wondered if it really stacked up to the deli. Might have to give it a whirl.
