last time I had this vintage was 2018, I found it to be too bretty. I've had this bottle since ~'16. brett aromas have taken a step back and tertiary aromas a step forward.
cherry, coffee, tobacco leaf, hint of pyrazine, tomato.
medium body. fresh acid, smooth and lingering tannin across the mid palate, delicate finish that entices the next sip.
glad I waited.

Delicious juice! Great producer and always a beautiful expression of cab franc. I’m sitting on some 2016 but will probably give it a bit more time
Agree re: brettiness from what I can recall. It has been a while, but this used to be a go to of mine with random Thursday nigh burgers from Shake Shack (in the U.S.) during that period. I’ve found more recent vintages to be more fruit forward, though admittedly I haven’t dabbled (as) much. Olga Raffault is great, and for some reason, local wine shops here stock it in 375ml as well for some reason, making it an interesting option when flying solo.
What does Bretty mean?
