For me, I’m doing 3k plants this years, switching to Red Deuce from “Jetstar” last year. I did 1,800ish plants last year, stretching for 3k this year. I own a large road side stand so the more the better. We try to split them up by 3 crop phases, we did 3 last year gonna try for a close 2 this year. Due to the bipolar weather we had hopefully it helps as our third did terrible due to the summer drought we had.

Man, you’ve got the dream. I just mapped out what varieties I’m going to start. I’m just trying to squeeze in about 20 plants in a small urban side yard, along with my hot pepper affliction. I usually start about 18 varieties, and make sure I start 2-3x each, knowing I give away anyone who doesn’t get in the ground at our house. I enjoy the novelty of variety, and still trying to determine who loves Portland summers. What’s interesting is I’ve done about this much for 3 years, and my top producers/tastiest change from year to year. I’d love to have the kind of space you are working with. Amazing stuff.

I’m debating if I’m going to try and put up some structures that I can hang shade cloth from. Lost a lot of our early fruit with some insane sunscald in June last year. Still had an ok year, but it is always disappointing to toss those first ripening things.

I’m in PNW, so lots of short season plants. My neighbors and I have been wondering if we’ll get a jump on getting things in the ground, as our average nightly lows have not been that low.

What’s your acreage for that many plants? I was planning to ramp up production this year to around 1000 plants. Sungolds, bumblebee, and Sakura as cherries, and big beef, PBTD as slicers. Considering throwing in a yellow slicer too. Any recommendations?

Wow, this would be a dream setup for me. Or maybe a nightmare, considering how much I stress about my plants lol.

I’m just a backyard gardener, but next week ( 9a, southern US ), I’ll be planting my seedlings. I’m growing about 30-35 tomatoes, and I’m trying a few new ( to me ) varieties this year.

    I’m doing:

    Black Krim

    Black from Tula

    Brown Sugar

    Raspberry Burst ( new )

    Indigo Apple ( new )

    Blue berry ( new )

    Midnight Snack

Norfolk “Althea” purple ( new )

    Super Sauce ( new )

And I had some Carbon lined up, but long story short, the Carbon won’t be making it to the spring garden. So, I’ll try them again for a fall crop.
