Who is using these Jars? I've only ever used BALLS ones, and never had an issue with sealing etc.

  1. I only use off brands for things I don’t actually “can”. I bought several of their wide mouth half pints on a really good sale a few years ago to put honey in to give away. I also use non-ball for dry storage, they can also be used for crafts.

I am not saying they won’t work, but personally I prefer a tried and true name for all the work the canning involves.

  2. Never had any trouble- my experience with off brands is the lids and rings suck but the jars are fine, some brands the threads start lower causing issues with tattler lids (the additional thickness prevents full engagement of the band threads) but otherwise I’ve never had more breakage or failure

The jars are good, the lids are shit.

The jars are fine, but the lids are absolutely terrible

I purchased some of the lids (they were on sale) and noticed a higher failure rate than when using Kerr lids. I used the ones I had left as garden plant markers and went back to Ball/Kerr.

If youre actually pressure canning or water bath canning food you care about, id stick with Ball or Kerr. Off brands are fine for dry storage or gifting honey or whatever, but when you ve got hours of prep in those jars I wouldnt gamble to save a few bucks.

  7. Been using them for a few years without any issues
