COMO Hotels and Resorts is entering one of France’s most prestigious wine regions with the reopening of COMO Cordeillan-Bages on May 1. The project marks the brand’s debut in Bordeaux and represents the restoration of a 19th-century Left Bank estate set among the vineyards of Pauillac in the Médoc.

The relaunch has been realised in partnership with the Cazes family, owners of the celebrated Château Lynch-Bages, deepening the property’s integration into the region’s historic wine landscape.

A historic estate reimagined

Located in Pauillac, the heart of the Médoc appellation, COMO Cordeillan-Bages occupies an estate distinguished by turrets dating back to the 17th century. The redesign is being led by Italian architect and designer Paola Navone, who previously reimagined COMO Le Montrachet.

Navone’s transformation extends across the entire property, including:

The renovation aims to balance the estate’s historical architecture with COMO’s contemporary, wellness-oriented aesthetic.

Access to Bordeaux’s most prestigious vineyards

Through its close relationship with Château Lynch-Bages, guests are granted access to curated wine experiences rarely available to the public.

The property is also situated near three of Bordeaux’s five First Growth estates, placing it within immediate reach of some of the most valuable and historic vineyards in the world.

Its position along the renowned Route des Châteaux further enhances its appeal to oenophiles, as the scenic road connects many of the region’s iconic wineries.

Beyond wine – coastal access and village life

While viticulture dominates the Médoc identity, the region offers more than vineyard visits. Guests can explore nearby villages characterised by independent boutiques, museums, gastronomic dining and specialist wine shops.

The Atlantic coastline lies just under 20 miles from the estate, offering sandy beaches that contrast with the inland vineyard landscape.

Strengthening COMO’s French portfolio

The opening of COMO Cordeillan-Bages becomes the brand’s third property in France. It joins COMO Le Beauvallon in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, scheduled to open April 24, 2026, and COMO Le Montrachet in Burgundy.

With its Bordeaux debut, COMO extends its European footprint into one of the world’s most revered wine destinations, aligning luxury hospitality with heritage estates and immersive regional experiences.
