Esporao Reserva Branco. Accessible, cheap and punches way above its price point!

    Penfolds Max’s Cabernet Shiraz !

Cost around €20, drinks like €50+ imo

Beaujolais Cru. Pick a good producer from any of the 10.

I don’t know if it goes here or should be saved for the “Is mid” column but Villa Antinori

Faustino V Rioja. Definitely checks the cheap box. Not a bad wine imo

  7. Saint Cosme Côtes du Rhône. $15-20. 100% Syrah. 100% your friend.

  8. ababab70

Chateau Buena Vista. Not everyone’s thing but it tastes like cabs twice or triple the price.

Assuming we are talking price before flips, my winner is Domaine des Tours

Jean Marc Burgaud Morgon Cote du Py. Would also throw the Beuajolais Villages in the ring as its cheaper, but not quite as good imo

Faustino Gran Reserva. Rioja. €25. Newest release is 2016 I think.

    Somewhat niche, but:

De Bortoli ‘Noble One’ Botrytis Semilion.

This is c£20 per 375ml and as good as any Sauternes/ other desert wine I’ve ever had. Highly recommended.
