I tried this recipe (just the meat part, not the buns) and… not a fan. 1. it was way too liquidy. it was more like sloppy joe soup than sloppy joes. 2. it was way too tangy/acidic. couldn't take more than 1 bite without needing a drink to cleanse the taste
Alton, we loved Cutthroat Kitchen and Good Eats and Iron Chef America and the Next Food Network Star!!!! We miss you and your intelligence!!! You look like Keith's family. Keith's Mom Louise Beavers ran the State of South Carolina and Keith has a Masters degree in biological Anthropology. Keith 's parents are from Athens GA. We miss you Joan and Keith
My great uncle joe told me he got sloppy drunk and invented the sloppy joe in his underware in 1929 when he accidently puked in the cheese…. he was gonna do like a chopped cheese…. 😂😂😂 he was not the joe that invented it he lived in pennsylvania and never went further than ohio away from home…..i believed him until i was like 24 😂😂😂😂
Funny, that's twice today I've heard on YouTube a cooking teacher call Green Bell Peppers chopped up green onions. The other was the Meat Church guy, IIRC.

I love it when I just drop something like 80/80 and you guys pick it up. Let's me know you're out there and wide awake.
Come on man. Alton, it’s not hard to say,”Picadillo” pronounced “Picadiyo”. I expect better from you.

"Warsh-yer-sister Sauce"
This looks great, I tink I'm going to make these this weekend
Bao! Or more like manapua, with the westernized dough.

My family calls it "wash your sister sauce."
We call them “unkempt Josephs”.
Fat is NOT Flavor,
God made KitchenAid
12:52 not 9, not 10, but 10 dashes

Sloppy Joes were never meant to be sliders. They were supposed to be a meal. (I was there!)
I put lentils in my sloppy joes. So did my grandma. (Also I shred carrots in the sauce to hide them from my kids).
Mmmm almost like someone did a show where they made their own liquid smoke……I wonder who that was……
Sloppy joe's on tater tots , no bread with a little bit of cheese heaven😊
Best food channel around by a country mile
If you didn't notice, that wasn't a smartphone at 15:00

YEA FOR ALTON
And that was the day Sloppy Joe cut his mullet and got a 9-5 job.
This is such a great video! From us Texans and Tex-mex food lovers, that word is Peek-a-dee-oh. Love your work, Mr Brown!
I really need to eat before watching your videos!!
Pickles is when I remembered Alton is from the south and not the Midwest
Long time fan here! I make mine in the electric sandwich maker that cuts the bread on the diagonal. "Smashed Sloppy Joes"🎉❤
This might not be the appropriate venue for this post but I’ll ask for forgiveness. Just made your pot roast recipe using picanha and it’s amazing.
10 dashes of liquid smoke… but not 10. Got it.
you just invented clean joes
The sloppy joes I remember having growing up had a mixture of ground beef and sausage. A more savory flavor.
instead of awkwardly using a spoon to remove fat, just dip a corner of a paper towel and let it soak up as much fat as you want gone.
That’s Mr Bonamassa to you pal.
