I never see this restaurant talked about which is a shame because it’s very very good. It’s more western food than kaiseki ( which i prefer) and chef Fukuoka also has experience at some of the best kaiseki restaraunts in the world including having worked with Brandon from Hayato. There are only three people helming the restaurant currently so the vibe is super friendly and homely. They even gave be an abalone supplement and a couple of glasses of sake for free since I was the only diner who went during the blizzard and didn’t cancel. My favorites were the shirao tempura and the sea snail course ($8 addon) – I also added the lobster croquette for $9 which was amazing as well. They also offer free corkage on sundays ( I took a bottle of Imayo Tsukasa Koi which was excellent ).

This is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC, I think I might’ve recommended it in that one place we’re both in lmao but it really does deserve more hype. They’re extremely creative but the dishes are executed with a finesse that’s really hard to see outside of restaurants that are much harder to book or significantly more expensive
edit: It’s chef Fukuzaki not Fukuoka lol autocorrect
