I'd make one as a late night snack for me and the wife
Looks great! I will swap pork rinds for the croutons!
ez pz, muy bueno!!!! 😊😊😊😊
🙏 Please Chef, meatloaf for one.
The guys voice just reminds me of Christmas. 🎅🏻🎄
Seems like far too much salt especially if you are using well-salted jarred sauce! 🧂 The American public has become accustomed to a very unhealthy amount of salt in their diet. No wonder hypertension is an enormous problem in this country!
Should have taken 1 egg and whipped it with a fork dipped the chicken in it and then dipped the chicken in seasoned bread crumbs. Then done the rest.
I think adjust the croutons by taking half, and inside a small ziploc bag smash them and then sprinkle that on with with the other half of the croutons might be an interesting take…
Thanks for cooking for one. I live alone and with most recipes I'm either overeating or I'm eating leftovers for days. This could be a tasty single-meal solution.
😊
Every recipe I have made from Allrecipes has turned out amazing. Chef John makes loits of posts. I'm making that this weekend.
I was under the impression that chicken had to be cooked to at least 165°
I think I would pulse or grind the croutons and put them directly onto the chicken … then add sauce & cheese… and perhaps some more ground croutons over the cheese.
Both the "for one" and the "low threshold" part of this awesome. This can easily be prepared in the time it takes the oven to heat up.
In fact, "can be prepared in the time the oven takes to heat up" is a great concept in and of itself, as oven food "makes itself" unattended. And on some days that's the difference between getting a proper dinner and "nah, I'll just make a sandwich".
Looks delicious!
Now if only I could afford chicken…
Thank you Chef John! I'm a single senior who appreciates these recpes for one. 👍
This is perfect for me! I work from home and am by myself during the day. Hope to see more of cooking for one content…
Annoying voice
My oven is on the fritz, but this is on the list of something to try.
Re the mozzarella, you said low moisture; but is skim or whole milk is better? 🤔
Ever since someone mentioned in the comments, that you sound like you’re on a carousel…I can’t un-hear it!!! lol!!!
I still love the content!!👍🏻😎
For one? I can't eat like that any more. This would feed two in our house, along with a salad and veg.
I'm not a very good cook so these For One recipes are perfect for practice without waisting too many resources, especially in this economy.
I’m so happy to hear all the chefs are now cooking their chicken to 145
It might be a good idea to put the croutons into a gallon freezer baby and crush it. And put it on the chicken before the cheese.
The latest in Chef John's "Lonely Guy" series of dinner recipes.
No shake of cayenne?!
I have the perfect one serving Dutch oven-cast iron pot for this. I will try this with some leftover roast chicken, sprinkle it with croutons coarsely chopped in my USB mini-food processor, then start adding the sauce and cheeses with one layer, not two. If it turns out, I'll have yet another dish I can use leftover chicken in. Thanks 👌.
Could you make "Dishes for One" a mini series?
How hard would it be to adapt this recipe for an air fryer?
I'm thinking an air fryer would overcook/burn the top layer of cheese long before the chicken is cooked through. But I'm not sure how to adjust for that.
No oven. I am going to try this in a small slow cooker.
❓Anyone want to take a stab at what size that casserole dish is ❓
I'm sorry but is that baking tray getting smaller in every scene?
