Took several pours of Armanac and a cigar in the courtyard after dinner. A double pour of Château de Laubade, French Laundry Edition and a single of their Château de Laubade, Per Se Edition, alongside a peppermint tea and a Davidoff, "Anniversario No. 3 – TFL 30th Anniversary," we were set up below a heater with our beverages and water and were given blankets and scarves.

We were picked up from our hotel in Napa in a black BMW with French Laundry branding on it and driven to and from the restaurant. The experience includes the services of a concierge to take care of reservations of your choosing rather than waiting through the standard release process. Additionally, when we were dropped back off at our hotel, we were handed a small bag containing both of the cookbooks and our menus from the night all of which were signed by Chef Keller and a small birthday chocolate bar.

Overall, would I do the black card experience again? Probably not.

It’s a fantastic experience to try once but the duration and amount of food becomes almost burdensome compared to their normal shorter menus and times. I’m very glad we did it, and I would recommend it to somebody who absolutely needs to get a reservation.

The gratuitous use of quotation marks will continue on in perpetuity. I’m just shocked that they don’t have any around “Evolution”.

dude, this looks amazing. i was gonna say, the most full I’ve ever been at the end of the fine dining meal was Gymkhana and TFL’s regular menu. I seriously cannot imagine any additional courses on top of what we already had. it gets to a point where it’s too much! but i’d rather be too full than hungry afterwards I guess!
