Chocolate Fudge Cake


This is my ultimate chocolate fudge cake! There's layers of black cocoa chocolate cake, chocolate mascarpone fudge frosting & a dark chocolate ganache that also contains mascarpone, to make it softer & more spreadable. It's seriously chocolatey!

I'd love to share my recipe (it's from my blog) but I don't think that's allowed on this subreddit?

    This looks incredible. I found your blog and reviewed your recipe and I love that the cake uses butter AND oil AND sour cream, as I don’t like the texture of all-butter cakes, but oil only has its downsides as well. With the black cocoa in the cake and the 72% chocolate in the ganache, I also imagine this isn’t overly sweet.

    What was your reasoning for doing frosting between the layers and ganache over top? Flavor, or mainly creamy texture? Just curious!

    Mascarpone fudge frosting? Dark chocolate ganache?? Okay, it’s ten am where I am and now I’m ravenously hungry for chocolate cake for breakfast. This cake is going to haunt my dreams. I’m about to replace my girlfriend’s picture on my phone lock screen with that picture of the perfect slice where the sunlight is hitting it *just* right and you can see how dense and moist the cake layers are.

    How does the mascarpone change the taste of the ganache? I made a similar cake recently and the dark chocolate ganache was soooo yummy but so hard to spread!

    Thank you, so much. I have had one of the worst days possible at work, but got on break to check out Reddit hoping to see something good that would lift my spirits. This was the first post and picture I saw. Spirits lifted! Life is definitely good, because there is amazing chocolate cake that looks this good in the world 🥰
