LIVERMORE, CA — It was the combo you never knew you needed. Coffee shops are often accompanied by pastries, sandwiches, or breakfast and brunch food, but when they also offer a full grilled tilapia or New York steak plate is a little bit rarer.
Meza n Moka, which just opened at Huckleberry’s old location at 1116 East Stanley Boulevard in Livermore, is a bit of a restaurant unicorn: it offers a full coffee, tea, mocktail, and smoothie menu, which is available until 9:30 p.m., alongside a full Mediterranean menu of shawarma, kebabs, lamb, and salmon plates.
“Experience the perfect blend of Mediterranean flavors and artisanal beverages. Two concepts, one extraordinary destination,” the new restaurant boasts.
Its extensive drinks menu offers all varieties of iced and hot espressos, americanos, lattes, and chais. The Mediterranean influence filters into drinks like Algerian Rose Water Iced Coffee and Algerian Mint Tea, or pastries like assorted baklava and kunafa (a sweet cheese pastry soaked in orange blossom syrup.)
Those will pair well with the Mediterranean menu, which offers falafel, kebabs, shawarma, lamb chops, grilled salmon, grille talapia, and steak. Many of these items are also available in grain bowls, wraps, paninis, soups, and salads.
Just for good measure, there’s also a burger menu, hot wings, sweet crepes, and a kids menu.
Meza n Moka is launching a soft opening and is open daily from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. They are also hiring for a number of positions, including baristas, cooks, cashiers, and prep staff.
