I recently went to Baldasarre the other day after last going 6 years ago!!! I briefly recall that seating was very limited and waiting in line. We somehow managed to get the “Last Lunch” card in a pretty long line. As we ordered, a table opened up and we were able to get seated! Amazing timing, as a lot of people in front of us weren’t able to be seated. There was only 1 pasta left, so we ordered Spaghetti and Meatballs for 2 ($36) and Crudo di Parma ($8). We were a bit disappointed that Spaghetti and Meatballs was the only pasta left, but it was delicious for something that’s usually so simple. The meatballs were great as they were very peppery. I was also surprised to see their pricing for almost all dishes were in the $5-$18 range. Extremely reasonable considering how much a comparable dish would be at other places with similar quality.
Would love to hear what your favourite dishes at Baldasarre are?

Rigatoni ragu 😍
Pasta alla Genovese
I don’t know if this is super popular, but I loved their char-filled ravioli in the butter sauce.
Love their pastas (both lunch and retail) but can’t be bothered to wait in 1+ hour lines so I don’t go often
Anytime they have chanterelles mushrooms on the menu it’s a must
Line ups!
Is that one plate of spaghetti with 3 meatballs for each person or to be shared for $36?
Tiramisu!
Wait, what? They’re not closing, are they? Or is it like “last lunch served for the day”
Used to really like this place precovid and supported them through covid but their ego and arrogance has made choose to spend my money elsewhere.
This title and photo made me think they were closing
This place has a gimmick of limited hours to inflate demand within a short time period. No thanks.
Post scared me for a second. Living 5 minutes away, they’re probably my biggest splurge spot.
Not so much from their lunch offerings but their lasagna variations are ridiculous. I prefer the Bianca the most I think.
I’ve had the Pickerel Ravioli and the Boréal Red Deer Ragù over Gnocchi. Both amazing, but the Deer Ragù over Gnocchi has been my favourite.
Honestly, unless you live very close or work nearby, who has time to go there?
The spaghetti and meatballs for two is a special Valentine’s special they do once a year. It looked amazing!
I really love the Carbonara, Matriciana, Tortalachi and pretty much anything that’s not Friday classics (had those too many times when I had Fridays off one year).
It’s pretty easy to grab retail after lunch ends so I’m not sure why people don’t time around it if possible. By 3pm, it’s super empty.
