I live North of the Mason-Dixon and East of the Mississippi. My daughter picked me up a 1993 cookbook from Alabama at the Goodwill Bins yesterday and it's been interesting to note the regional differences between this collection of recipes and the ones I found locally. Of particular note is the frequent, not to say rampant, use of peanuts in places Northerners would never think to put them.

I have not made this recipe; if you have, I would love to hear about your experience!

How am I to roll straight peanut butter into a ball? The viscosity and stickiness ain’t gonna make that happen.

I really want to try this recipe, but like u/Boon1Goon wrote, how the heck to make a ball with only peanut butter?

I wonder if I just mix it all together in one mash, if it would work to make balls from the mash?

I am out of sweet potato, but will buy some tomorrow! I’ll be back, this sounds like a fabulous breakfast on the go treat, or mid day snack.

These sound really good…especially the marshmallow version!

My MIL makes the marshmallow version, but she used a canned pineapple ring as the base. They’re gross.
