Driver hospitalized Tuesday after crashing into Dorignac’s Food Center entrance

METAIRIE, La. (WVUE) – A driver was hospitalized Tuesday night (March 3) after crashing a vehicle through the front entrance of Dorignac’s Food Center, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office said.

The age and condition of the man were not disclosed.

The JPSO said no one inside the grocery store was injured, and that the driver was taken to a hospital “as a precaution.”

The crash was reported at 6:05 p.m. at the store at 710 Veterans Memorial Blvd.

Deputies said the cause of the crash is under investigation. The store closed after the crash and it was unclear how long store operations would be affected.
