Is this a good deal, should I haggle it down or should I keep waiting and watching?

Have him bring the price down. That things been neglected and left uncovered.

I mean, the ranch kettle is a very specific one and it’s about $2600 brand new so $500 for one that seems to be in pretty decent shape. All things considered. It seems like a fairly good deal. Even $1000 a year ago from what I’ve seen online seems like a decent deal. To put in a perspective, you could maybe get a couple 26 inch kettles if you were to find them on clearance or on Facebook marketplace.
If you have the space for it and you really want it for some very large cooks it seems like a decent option. It also seems like he would work well for indirect cooking even a few briskets if you used fire bricks for a charcoal divider.
If it’s been listed for longer than a couple weeks, then sure offer up maybe 400 or 450 but realistically 500 seems pretty fair considering the rust on there is very surface level and should be easily cleaned with a burn off and then just cleaning the grate with a scrubber

That’s a crazy good price but it’s a real niche item. Limited buyers I would think.

If you need that much cooking real estate, it has all the grates in good condition, you’d be hard pressed to find one for less.

I lusted after one of these briefly, but after I saw one in person, I couldn’t imagine a time when I’d need a grill that big. If a 22″ isn’t doing it for you, look into a 26″. That thing is basically a whole bag of briquettes per cook. And if you’re only using a small part of it, what’s the point? Unless you’re having a grill measuring contest with your neighbor.

Pretty nice unit for $500, can you offer a bit less?
