There should be turkey in a Monte Cristo too.

The Monte Cristo sandwich I know is French toast with jam, ham, turkey, and swiss with powder sugar and served with syrup. This sounds pretty good too though

I wish more restaurants sold these. I miss Bennigan’s Monte Cristo.

Testing the limits of the definition of a Monte Cristo, but it still looks good as fuck

I used to go to NYC most summers as kid and one time my aunt took me to a fancy hotel and I ordered a Monte Cristo and truly thought I had consumed the finest thing the culinary world had to offer. I spoke of it for years.

Ill recognize a Bubba’s monstrosity anywhere.
    Its so good too!

I tried the Chipotle raspberry and it was too much on top of an already heavy sandwhich.

Yeah there is a place here that just makes a French toast sandwich and calls it a Monte Cristo. Not the same

I cannot stress this enough… YUM

Im getting sudden flashbacks of an order for a Monte Cristo, extra crispy, no grease.

    Its ALL GREASE!

    But damn that looks good.

The jam dip is actually the MVP here. Most places just give you syrup, but the tartness from the raspberries balances out the deep fried cheese perfectly. That sandwich looks perfectly golden too.

Do Montecristos need to be deep fried?  I thought it was basically a French toast sandwich.

My mom’s favorite version is from The Blue Bayou at Disneyland.

Huh, TIL what a Monte Cristo sandwich is.

I always pictured like some sort of mozzarella and pesto panini or something
