Ayoung FBC will release six kinds of wine brand Coppola made by Francis Ford Coppola, the director of the movie “The Godfather.” To commemorate the launch, the participatory event “Mafia Night by Coppola” will also be held on the 20th.
Ayoung FBC announced on the 6th that it will officially launch “four types of diamond collections” and “two types of premium line directors cuts,” the flagship line-up of Coppola Wine, in Korea. There are four products to be introduced this time, including diamond collections Chardonnay, Pinonua, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Claret, and two others, Director’s Cut Sonoma Coast Chardonnay and Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Diamond Collection is a line inspired by wine bottles found in old sellers, featuring an emphasis on the classic style and balanced completeness of California wines. Director’s Cut is evaluated as a collection that combines cinematic storytelling and winemaking by applying label designs inspired by the early film device, Zoetrope.
Coppola started his wine business in Ingleuch Estate in 1975. It later acquired the site of chateau suberren in 2006 and founded the current Francis Ford Coppola Winery. He says he has built a brand of wine inspired by family food culture based on the philosophy that “wine should always be on the table.”
Ayoung FBC will hold an experiential event called “Mafia Night by Coppola” to commemorate the launch. The event was planned based on the world view of The Godfather, Coppola’s representative work.
At the event, a large-scale mafia game will be held with 108 people in the background of the night view of the Han River, and it will be operated in an immersive manner that all participants can enjoy until the end. In addition, you can freely taste six Coppola wines, and Tim Bothell, the general chef of Coppola Winery Restaurant “Rustic,” will visit Korea to present Italian American-style dishes.
Mafia Night will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the 20th at Mood Seoul, located on Solbit Island in Banpo, Seoul. Tickets cost 59,000 won per person and can be booked at Naver Smart Store Wine Nara.
“Coppola is an iconic brand that combines film and wine, and this launch further strengthens the premium wine portfolio in the United States,” an Ayoung FBC official said. “We expect to introduce Coppola’s own cinematic storytelling and the charm of California wine to domestic consumers.”
