Neapolitan pizzeria Forbici will be opening its doors in Sheffield’s Millenium Square on Friday 27 March.

Meaning ‘scissors’ in Italian, Forbici cuts their pizzas in the true Neapolitan manner – into four slices, and with a pair of scissors.

Acclaimed by none other than Marco Pierre White, and having built up a large following in Manchester, Forbici has named Sheffield as the second city to enjoy its authentic, Italian cuisine.

Its opening hours will be 12-10pm Monday to Saturday, and 12-9pm on Sundays, when customers can enjoy their signature Biga dough pizzas, Italian classics, and even some special Sheffield-inspired dishes featuring our beloved Henderson’s Relish and pork crackling.

Forbici have even created the ambitious Parkin Pizza as a tribute to British cuisine’s sticky toffee pudding – Biga dough, with a toffee sauce base, crumbled parkin, and stracciatella ice cream.

And while they promise some to keep some of the classics signature creations including classics such as the Marinara, Margherita and American, they are promising a vibe tailored to Sheffield.

The chief executive of Individual Restaurants said: “This will be something completely unique to the city, created with the same respect for Neapolitan tradition that defines the Forbici experience.

“The Sheffield opening will continue that philosophy, combining Neapolitan craft with scientific fermentation and precision to deliver the new era of pizza. Rather than replicating Manchester, the restaurant will be designed specifically for Sheffield and its food scene.”
