Attempted the viral dumpling lasagna (see last slide) with no luck. Trying to avoid wasting the leftover filling…. So here goes my first attempt at wontons.

I made lasagna soup for meal prep last month and that one was fire.

I’d seal those wontons tight with a wet finger along the edges, otherwise they burst open while cooking and you lose all that filling you prepped. If you’re batch cooking, lay them flat to freeze so they don’t stick together, then transfer to a bag. Makes weeknight dinners faster without extra waste.

Wontons are perfect for stretching that filling further than lasagna would. Pan-fry them in batches on medium-high until golden (about 3 min per side), then freeze extras raw on sheet trays. You’ll get way more servings per pound of filling this way, which beats the lasagna math every time when you’re feeding a family tight.
