I woke up this morning with my stomach feeling a bit off.
Not exactly pain… more like mild indigestion or a slight stomach cramp.
In Korea, when kids say their stomach hurts, moms often make egg rice porridge (계란죽). It’s simple, gentle, and comforting.

It only takes about 15–20 minutes to make, and after eating it my stomach felt much better, so I thought I’d share it here in case it helps someone.

Recipe

  1. Rinse about 2 tablespoons of white rice.

  2. Add the rice to a pot with 1½–2 cups of water.

  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat.

  4. Simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice softens and starts to break down.

  5. Beat 1 egg, then slowly pour it into the porridge while stirring gently.

  6. Add a small pinch of salt to taste.

That’s it. Simple, warm, and very soothing.
If your stomach feels sensitive, try eating it slowly and while it’s warm (not too hot).

And if your stomach is really uncomfortable, one tip is to add extra water and make the porridge thinner. It becomes even easier to digest.

Hope this helps anyone dealing with a cranky stomach today 🙂

20 minutes is very questionable. Usually chapssal gets soaked for a couple of hours and even after that for the right texture it needs around 30-40 minutes
