Bit overhyped for me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a really good bar burger overall, with the patty definitely being the highlight, but I also don’t see what’s so special about it? I’ve had much better. The fries were also kinda lame, and $32 is a bit silly. Thoughts?

I gotta agree with you, OP. This honestly looks like a meal at fuckin’ Rollin’ Roaster. 😂

Almost $45 CAD for that is insane.

  3. I’ve seen better burgers at a gas station

Potentially the most overhyped burger in the world. Thanks to Action Bronson’s insatiable need to sound cool/edgy.

    Shake shack is better.

I can’t believe anyone would spend $30 for this

I understand everything is more expensive in NY but $32 for that is ludicrous.

Looks good! But I’d pay half that price

I’m not gonna lie, that looks like a terrible burger. Looks like the shit I’d make in a nonstick pan with leftover 5 day old bottom shelf beef from Aldi back in college. Almost rubbery looking.

$32 AND there’s enough ketchup there for about 3 of those coin fries. C’mon now

    THIRTY TWO AMERICAN DOLLARS?!

I live in San Francisco so I get crazy pricing on hyped items but whew… I hope you still had a nice time out, OP.

I don’t know how that compares to other prices in NY, but that is an insane price where I live.

Plenty of burgers comparable to it in New York for half the price.

Those potatoes look like they were rendered in Skyrim.

Wow. I mean the burger and fries look great to me but not at that price

  15. No_Assistant1422

Never would I pay that for a burger. It does look good though…….

I thought you were sounding a little harsh until I saw the price.

I mean you’re not going to necessarily see what’s so good about this burger from the photo, it’s the blend of dry aged meats that’s special.

That said, I have never been bc every time I’ve walked by there’s a line and I’m not going to make reservations to go to a place in red hook.
Also, EVERYTHING on the menu is that expensive so two people with a few drinks would be like 150 bucks w tax n tip, which is not worth it to me.

Luckily there’s a place 1 minute away called Brooklyn Ice House that does a good burger n fries for like 13 bucks (cash only!)

It looks good, just not “$32 special” good.

I went there last week & the first thought after my first bite was very similar to you’re reaction. Kinda overhyped and very patty forward and a bit one dimensional. But I realized I still really enjoyed eating it and kinda liked the minimalist approach of making the patty the main attraction and have nothing stand in its way. Overall I think it’s a fantastic burger but it’s still far from my favorite. I personally prefer Emily by a lot. I do prefer it over au cheval though (which I found to be really overhyped).

Those fries actually make me sad considering what you paid & the quality of beef.

Looks like the 10 dollar burger I get at the diner on Sundays

  22. Many_Inevitable_6803

Ok I was just about to comment about how good that looked until I saw the price wtf??

  23. Reddit040

I’d pay $64 for that burger. That is the best burger in NYC in my opinion.
