An intriguing new food spot getting ready to open in Hamilton will feature a unique fusion of Italian and Japanese cuisines.

Utamami will open at 65 King Street East in Hamilton near Gore Park, taking over the space previously held by Hong Kong dessert spot Sugar Marmalade.
The restaurant promises Italian dishes with thoughtful Japanese influences, offering a food experience that’s familiar and comforting yet fresh and unexpected.
One of the dishes Utamami teases on their Instagram page is a Formaggi Sando that sees homemade focaccia layered in mascarpone butter, provolone, Pecorino Romano, and Parmigiano with a side of shiso pesto dip.

They also have some appealing sweet dishes on the menu like a Japanese cheesecake and gelato, making Utamami a promising destination for dessert lovers as well.
No opening date has been announced yet for Utamami, but you can follow them on Instagram for more updates.
