6 months in with the Philos with I200D burrs and the Profitec Ride and I couldn’t be happier. The Philos is an absolute beast and it makes some of the best espresso i’ve ever had. I also have the I89D burrs and while those are great, the I200D’s perform exceptionally well with light and light-medium roasts and still do an incredible job with darker roasts- best of both worlds IMHO. The retention is little to none, and it’s consistency makes it such a pleasure to use every day. The Profitec Ride’s fast heat up time + scheduling feature has been a godsend in the mornings and the build quality is incredible.
I honestly feel like this could very well be my endgame… hopefully lol. Maybe a Profitec Drive would be worth it down the line for plumb-in capabilities but as of now, it’d be pretty darn hard to beat this!

Lovely set up. Have the same machine, the Ride, and absolutely love it. I also replaced the knobs with ECM ones.
My wife refuses to single dose, so waiting on Mahlkonig E64 WS to be delivered next week. But if i start getting more into funky anaerobic light/medium light roast, I may have to get either the Philos or Zerno.
I respect you for being self aware and honest, the ‘endgame.. hopefully lol’ is truly one of the realist things I’ve read for posts like these. Usually they’re very confident about any step up from a Bambino Plus being their endgame, at least you know you might still take out a mortgage somewhere down the road
looks great! i’m a a couple days in with my mazzer philos (upgraded from a mignon specialita with a single dose finecoar mod) and i love it. looking at either a la marzocco mini or micra for my espresso machine upgrade. i’ve had a rocket appartamento for almost 10 years now so it’s about time.
Oh wow! I see a cool blind shaker + stand setup for that Philos? Can you tell me more about it!
Last upgrade should be moving to a saturated group head.Â
The philos is a beast, it is one of the most consistent grinders i have ever owned.
Incredible setup! Incredible football club!
This equipment is already professional-grade.
Have the same set up and honestly couldn’t be happier.
For let’s say 85% medium roasts, 15% light-medium would you recommend the I189D or I200D burrs?
