Cheesecake Bread Ring found in a 1971 cookbook(let). I feel 5 pounds heavier already! My favorite part is the note that was written on the back of the booklet.

I love that illustration! That era had such a particular style.

Vepco! Brings back memories. Virginia Electric and Power Company for those not old and from Virginia…

I’ve never heard of hot roll mix, but this sounds indulgent.

I would make this if I had any idea how to duplicate or find hot roll mix.

Notes in old cookbooks are the absolute best part! The more random, the better. In one of my most treasured possessions, my grandma’s cookbook, there is a list of ingredients that for quite some time I thought was a weird recipe, and I googled the heck out of it before finally realizing it was a shopping list.

I find it interesting that the recipe specifies *dairy* sour cream. Is or was there some other kind? And if so, why not specify dairy cream cheese?
