It’s been raining all day, and it came down really hard last night. Not as bad as others got, but I looked at the radar before bed and had a moment of “oh shit, the ditch out by the road is already flooded, and we’re in the purple for the next hour and a half”.

The moisture probe also has the beds at the cusp between moist and wet, so at least I know the beds and bags are draining fairly well.

I hope everyone else in the path of last night’s storms ( zone 9a, southern U.S. ) made it through alright!

Glad your tomatoes did OK. I’m in NE Texas and we had warnings and alerts off and on all afternoon and evening, but the bad stuff missed us too. Very glad! I had about 20 young transplants that would have had to replace.

Your setup has excellent drainage, I would think, with the grow bags on top of the raised beds. Mine are similar, with the grow bags sitting on pallets. I worry more about small hail at this time of year.

Gently shake off the leaves. Helps fend off powdery mildew as it gets warmer if you get into the habit of gently shaking the water off the leaves after rain.

We got some rain here in Austin, Texas, but I wouldn’t call it a storm. It was thunder to the south of us. I just put my tomatoes in the ground a week ago.

Your tomatoes look great. I was wondering why you have them in grow bags on top of your raised beds?
