Spotted on a menu in Asheville NC. I fucking love this so much. Love, peace, and kitchen grease 🫶👊

That’s Asheville in a nutshell. The good FAR outnumber the evil here.

This is beautiful, and I’m so glad they advertise it and offer ways for folks to help contribute to free meals.

How many of us have been temporarily embarrassed millionaires who didn’t know where we’d be able to find our next meal, and didn’t even know who or how to ask about where to go? Just hear via word of mouth which places are kind and will hook you up and hope they’re still feeling kind?

By proudly serving a free, healthy, naturally vegan and gf meal, this place is also offering dignity and security. I know that, if I’m broke, I can find a reliable friend here.

And for folks with means, this provides a simple way to help anyone in need with no BS.

    Everybody Eats.

This is what I say to any server or newer cook that feels nervous about asking the kitchen for food, or wanting a mod on their shift meal.

Nobody should ever be afraid to ask, or sorry to eat.

    Everybody Eats.

Rosetta’s busted ASS in the Helene aftermath, opening up about just after it passed, with free hot food. Hundreds a day. Absolute legends.

Firestorm Anarchist Bookstore used to have a small cafe with pay it forward options.

The one time I mentioned being vegan in this channel, I wound up with negative votes.

But we vegans do things like 👆🏻 too.

Sure, I’ll regale you with philosophy, if you ask. Otherwise, I’ll spare you.

Working in the hunger field its reassuring to see this and this thread of people who actually care means a lot. 💜

Most places in downtown on Biltmore used to take care of folks when they could.  Shout out to and pour one our for Ed Boudroux’s Bayou BBQ !  And thank you Christian Bikers for a hot meal under the bridge on Lexington Ave on Sundays.  Nuff love !!! Much blessings on your houses!

As someone in a “Fiber is the new protein” study, that meal (with slaw) is an absolute powerhouse.

Thanks OP! Super excited to learn about this.

They have an option to donate on their website in case anyone is interested.

  12. I was in Maine and went with my son to the Bethel Sugar Shack for some ice cream. They also served food – burgers, pizza, sandwiches, and the like.

On the wall they had a place where you could buy a meal and put up a receipt for someone who needed help paying for their food.

I thought it was a nice way to give people an opportunity to pay it forward.

The tempeh Ruben is my favorite sandwich maybe of all time

Rosetta’s is awesome. I’ve heard that they’ve still been struggling to recover from all the lost business from Hurricane Helene so if you live in the area or are visiting try and show them some love

My grandma’s line (and now mine): If you’re hungry, I’ll feed you. I’ve spent time on dozens of hot lines for those in need and I don’t think I can ever stop.

    Good fucking job NC!

If you are a bit south of Asheville visiting my little mountain town there is a place you can get free rice and soup free any day, always, and for anyone.
