Cheated a little with a pack of pre-shredded cabbage and carrot. Added parsley and black sesame seeds. Topped with a dressing of minced garlic clove, lemon juice, and olive oil, with a bit of salt.

Does anyone else ever save their grains for their dessert? I had a handful of whole-wheat almond cookies after.

What protein would you recommend alongside? I am full, so I may just add more to dinner. I was thinking tinned mackerel.

    I would like fish like you suggested. Beans would be nice too. I think white beans, lentils, or chickpeas. Chicken works for me too. Also shrimp. A combo of bay shrimp and some beans would be a good protein and fiber boost.

    Chickpeas, Edamame, or black eyed peas (not from canned). Or chicken.

    It’s not really cheating to use pre-shredded cabbage it’s smart and I do it all the time. Good quick protein additions: boiled egg, canned tuna or salmon, and pre-shredded rotisserie chicken if your grocery store carries it. (Mine does- just shredded white meat chicken with nothing added, it’s an awesome cheat code on top of salads etc.)
