    I recall an outbreak of noro associated with oysters on the East Coast of Vancouver Island that seemed to be connected with the presence of commercial fishing boats going after herring or roe on kelp in mid winter. A lot of times on commercial boats, people do their thing right over the side or in a bucket and toss that in the water. All it took was one mildly sick fisherman or woman.

    Edit. There is also a lot of beach houses in the area. Might have been from septic field overflow.

    Im in IL and got noro a day after eating raw oysters this weekend. I’m 100% sure thats what it qas, because it’s the only thing my live in bf won’t eat and the only thing we didnt share over the last few days.

    Thank goodness the majority of the oysters I eat are from a Morro Bay oyster farm, just had an amazing half dozen last night.

    Norovirus is nasty nasty nasty. Last time I had it (like 3-4 years ago) was from raw oysters and I haven’t had raw oyster since. Scared the shit out of me literally.
