Piada Italian Street Food opening soon in Schertz

Piada Italian Street Food specializes in piadas, which are Italian-style wrapped sandwiches. The Italian restaurant also serves chopped salads, customizable pasta bowls and more, according to its website.

New winery to open on School Street in Boerne this spring

Missick Cellars plans to open a tasting room at 941 N. School St. in Boerne this spring, Co-owners Chris and Laure Missick told Community Impact. The winery will specialize in white and sparkling wines, Chris Missick said.

Urban Bird Hot Chicken to open location at The Rim in San Antonio

This will be Urban Bird Hot Chicken’s second location in the Greater San Antonio area. According to previous reporting from Community Impact, an Urban Bird Hot Chicken location opened in the Stone Oak area back in September—and is also planning a third location off of Potranco Road on the West Side of San Antonio.

The highly anticipated Ultimate Burger Press, or UBP, Burgers, has opened its first brick-and-mortar. The burger joint, located at 588 S. Business I-35, opened March 3, owner John Evans said. The restaurant serves everything UBP and more—including burgers made using the Evans’ patented Ultimate Burger Press, which leaves an indentation meant to keep the meat juicy, he said.

Local Tex-Mex chain to add 6th area location in North San Antonio

Taqueria Datapoint serves an eclectic mix of Tex-Mex options, from classic birria tacos to parrilladas. The restaurant also serves all-day breakfast tacos and offers catering, according to its website.

SA Mini Foodie Festival

This culinary festival will feature local chefs, vendors, businesses and artists alongside a lineup of local live musical performances. Cuisine will range from international to local favorites like sushi and street tacos.
