Chef Eyal Shani’s pita concept arrived last May at Grand Central Market

West Third Street is getting a restaurant that is about all things pita.

On March 14, Miznon will debut its second L.A. location, marking its first standalone restaurant in the city. The opening comes almost one year after chef Eyal Shani’s pita concept arrived at Grand Central Market.

In partnership with restaurateur Giancarlo Pagani, founder of Pagani Projects and managing partner of Mother Wolf Group, Miznon Third Street expands beyond the Downtown pita stall’s signature offerings. In addition to the likes of the falafel burger and lamb kebab pitas, the menu offers even more out-of-pita dishes, desserts and kosher offerings, including a slow-cooked beef and roots stew and hummus plate. A kosher-style schnitzel pita, ribeye pita and Amburger are in the works.

“Los Angeles is a city of neighborhoods, and that’s what excites us most about growing here,” said Pagani. “Each Miznon is designed to reflect the rhythm and character of its community—while staying true to the bold simplicity, seasonality, and open-kitchen energy that define us. LA’s incredible produce culture and love of Mediterranean flavors make it a natural home for Miznon. As we expand, the goal isn’t to reinvent the brand—it’s to thoughtfully place it where it can thrive, build community and contribute to the city’s dynamic fast-casual landscape.”

The dedicated bar program features four cocktails exclusive to Miznon Third Street: Miznon Margarita (tequila, lime, hot peppers); Pink Lemon Drop (Vodka, St. Germain Elderflower, Lemon, Strawberry); The OG (Whiskey, Angostura, Cardamom); Smoke and Ginger (Mezcal, Angostura, Lime, Ginger Beer). Diners can also consider a variety of mocktails and other signature cocktails; a signature Miznon pilsner made in collaboration with a local brewery is planned for the near future.

The March 14 opening of Miznon’s L.A. flagship also offers the chance at a free signature pita to the first 100 guests.

“Pita is one of the best unknown translators of a place’s spirit and culture into a dish creation,” said Shani. “What dream can I bless myself with than dreaming of L.A.? The bright side of the States, the city that the sun is blessing with warmth, colors, and freedom.”
