Lately been watching too many videos on the Cafelat Robot.

I’m obsessed with the simplicity of it, and all you need is boiling water and you’re good to go.

Comparing the simplicity of the Robot, I think it’s better than the Rok and Flair, I’m also not too fond of the design of both of these models.

I already have a BBE & DF64 Gen 2 downstairs in the kitchen. And I see myself using the robot upstairs, next to my pour over station where I have my gooseneck kettle with the drippers.

What do y’all’s think?

Some late night espresso, without needing to fire up the electric machine?

I’m sorry, “Late Night Espresso“? Are you some kind of eternal being who doesn’t need to sleep?

  2. Murky-Belt4831

Dont get the Cafelat Robot! because of Reasons

  3. Ask your wife.
If you’re not married, get it NOW!

  4. In_nomine_Patris

I love mine. Makes great, consistent shots. Get the mittens, if you buy one

  5. Critical-Passage8165

You can’t have it. It ony exists on utube now. It was driven underground by success and tariffs. I have one because i am a survivalist. I planned ahead

  6. Je n’ai aucun argument valable qui puisse t’empêcher d’acheter le robot

  7. MediumForeign4028

It can’t fit your regular scale and the preheating looks like a pain. Only buy one if you are into vinyl records.

    Hope that helps.

  8. It’s a great machine; small footprint and while their is a workflow involved, it’s an enjoyable process and the end result is great.

Someone who already has 2 separate coffee stations in their house is asking Reddit for approval of a frivolous espresso maker purchase? Definitely buy it.

Why do u think the robot is better than the flair? Tbh i think both of them are great but the flair has to more advantages which are the heating element and the look. But for the price the robot definitely wins. So what made u decide it’s better. Cause i am in the same stand i can’t decide

Had mine since 2020. I love it so much that I believe I will request to be buried with it if none of my future great grand kids appreciate it enough for me to leave it to them.

Robot is awesome. Reliable, very low maintenance, little to go wrong and easy to use.

(Disclaimer: I don’t have a record player or massive beard)

The robot is the espresso equivalent of the v60. It’s minimal as you make it, it’s cheap, will last forever and you’re entirely responsible for whether it churns out crap or bangers all day.

And you can make an espresso and have the whole thing cleaned up and put away before your toast has even popped up.

My spouse just came back from blue bottle coffee and said my latte was better than there’s. I’m using their beans and my robot

The heating and mucking about with hot water seems like a pain. If you want that satisfying manual lever action, just get a La Pavoni, which is in my opinion the most manual you can go if you don’t want the tedious unfun parts. It’s basically the same except the kettle is built in, connected and preheats the machine as well.

“I’m obsessed with the simplicity of it, and all you need is boiling water and you’re good to go.”

what’s more simple than pushing a button?

I have a dedica and the robot. The robot it’s better but not 300€ better

    Maybe 100…

  17. ExplanationLess1083

You are never going to use that bbe ever again.. what grinder are you matching it with 😅😅😅

  18. Maximum-Leopard-6475

    Boiling water? Is OP trolling?

  19. myco_crazey

Not that I’m biased on anything, but get a Pavoni, even easier for late night espresso.

  20. stereosanctity87

My friend has one. It makes fantastic espresso.

I have a breville dual boiler, however I haven’t used it since I got the Robot… I initially got it as a fun toy, but since it’s easier to use + tastes better, I stopped using my actually expensive machine for espresso. I still use it for steaming milk occasionally, but the Robot is just that good.

  22. Don’t get it because, you’ll start telling people that you make better espresso than the cafe, and how it comes out perfect every time, and that the clean up is so easy.… and then all your friends will find you really annoying and never talk to you again.

  23. Background_Teach_936

Get it. Perfect machine, no ragrets.

I’m six years in now with my Robot and wouldn’t trade it for anything. I replaced the piston gasket around the 4.5 year mark since it started failing; it was only after that I learned that you’re supposed to occasionally lube the gasket with the 111 Molykote included in the box… Other than that, I’ve not had a single issue with my Robot.

No boiler corrosion/scaling to worry about, no 20 minute minimum preheat, no electrical faults, leaks, etc.

Plus, the Robot is built like a tank and I think of it like a good cast iron skillet; it’ll be around many, many years from now.

  25. georgie336

    Get it, immediately.

I have a Vectis and am seriously on the fence about getting one.

  27. jritchie70

Cannot give you a reason why not to get one. Robots are so good at what they do.

  28. Don’t get it. The extra expenses and reduction of control that other machines provide builds character /s

  29. purdeous

You still need to grind for your manual espresso, not sure if your df64 dialed in for bbe will be dialed in for the cafelat, maybe a hand grinder for upstairs

  30. ardorlikemordor

Do you want all the ladies to flock into your house and eat non-RM60 chicken rice? Coz that’s what’s gonna happen if you get this Robot.

  31. Fun_Blacksmith5000

It’s adorable, you should buy it… shit I read the title wrong my bad

  32. a-neurotypical

Get it. It’s amazing. It doesn’t do single shots though

  33. aspenextreme03

Had one, loved it for over a year and got a machine. Sold it to my best bud that is been enjoying it for over 2 years now.

Nothing wrong with it and makes tasty shots.

  34. These_Citron3839

Is this one of those coffee machines that you need to heat up your water and jerk off your coffee manually?

  35. aoeudhtns

    I’m sorry, Dave. I’m afraid I can’t do that.

  36. jellofishsponge

It’s always out of stock so that’s an easy choice

  37. Ricklek

Get it or get the Flair 58 + 2 both are amazing options
