What are you doing differently this year?

My packet of 10 seeds ended up being 14 seeds. Only 2 have germinated so far. I also got the Beta tomato seeds, 3 out of 10 of those have germinated. I hope these tomatoes taste really good, because the germination rate is not impressing me especially considering how expensive these seeds were.

I can’t speak for the germ rates from this particular variety, but I haven’t had any trouble starting their others. What temperature are you keeping these at?
It’s my first year getting lucky enough to score a pack of the “Althea” purple tomatoes ( they sell out quickly ), and they germinated just fine for me. Here’s a few of them in their garden home. Hopefully you’ll have all the purple tomatoes you heart desires! Best of luck!
What’s your temp ? I usually sprout on the heat pad , and they pop more evenly for me that way , not always but worth a shot

If you want to improve your germination and viability, I would suggest ditching the jiffy pods and just using plain of seed starting mix. You’re already putting them in a cup so the pod is literally serving no purpose, and it’s an absolutely terrible tool for seed starting.
