La Noisette Sweets
The West Berkeley French patisserie is shuttering, announcing that the last day of operation will be April 1. Owner Alain Shocron shared an Instagram story last Friday with the news and wrote, “Thank you for the memories, the laughter, and all the sweetness we’ve shared. We’re not crying–it’s just powdered sugar in our eye.” La Noisette bakery operated in the Berkeley Kitchens space for about 10 years, and told NOSH in 2019 that while the bakery is mostly French-style, influences include Italian, Moroccan, Spanish, and Canadian. The Chronicle reports that Mild Cloud Bakery, a pop-up that makes Japanese milk bread, will be opening in the space in April. La Noisette Sweets, 2701 Eighth St., Berkeley.
