Welcome to Turkish Cooking 101
Day 2: Turkish Cacık 🥒
I always chop my cucumbers the traditional “mama way” right in the hand, no cutting board needed! (But please be careful if you’re not used to it 😅).
How to make it:
✨ Chop your cucumbers into small pieces.
✨ Add generous spoonfuls of plain yogurt.
✨ Add a good pinch of salt to bring out the juices.
✨ The Texture: I prefer my Cacık thick and creamy. But traditionally, you can add ice-cold water to make it more like a refreshing cold soup!
✨ The Toppings: Spice it up with fresh dill, dried mint, or a drizzle of olive oil and chili flakes.
Serve it cold alongside your Pilaf or Musakka.
Afiyet olsun!
Let me know in the comments: do you prefer your Cacık thick and creamy, or watery and refreshing? 🤍
