Pizza lovers in South Surrey have lost a gem now that Natalino’s Pizza officially closed its final Metro Vancouver location.

Natalino’s opened its South Surrey outpost in February 2024, marking a just over two-year run for what was the pizza shop’s second outpost at the time.

An official closure announcement has yet to be made for the restaurant, but the interior has been gutted aside from a few fridges, and it is currently listed as “Permanently Closed” on Google.

What sets Natalino’s Pizza apart is none other than its owner, Natalino, who is a contemporary master pizza chef from Rome, Italy, known for his authentic square Roman-style pizzas.

Natalino’s used a special dough that was naturally matured for between 48 and 72 hours, as well as fresh ingredients. On the menu, it served classic pizzas like Margherita and pepperoni, but also some traditional Roman flavours as well, like the Romana, a pie made with creamy truffle sauce, mozzarella, sliced potatoes, Italian sausage, extra virgin olive oil, and just a sprinkle of rosemary and salt.

Natalino’s also operated a location in Crescent Beach, which closed its doors last year. However, fans who are determined to get their fix of Roman-style pizza can visit its outpost south of the border in Bellingham.
