Good afternoon!

Snagged this beauty at the thrift store for a few dollars yesterday and just wanted to see what suggestions people had for making sure it is working correctly. What tests should I run to make sure it’s safe for cooking?

3154/1, 4 quart. No idea what year, but glass top, so I know she’s real old. Removable stoneware insert. Seems very lightly used for its age. Cord looked good.

When I turn it on and sides get hot immediately. Within minutes the sides are so hot you can’t touch. Bottom stayed cool, insert barely seemed to get hot. Only tested it for an hour I’m assuming the heating unit is only on the sides but tried searching manuals but there isn’t confirmation for this specific model.

One sec, I’m pretty sure I commented on a post with one of these.
