Go bake with her and learn how to make bread, it could be funny🤗🤗

cut into cubes, find a crouton recipe online and get really into salads

Until the starter gets stronger add instant yeast to dough to get some air in there.

She isnt proofing long enough. There is the aliquot method that lets you see when the dough doubles by keeping a little bit in a vertically sided jarp/testtube/shot glass.

literally everytime my mum tries to bake…

It isn’t proofed at all. I can’t help much without knowing her process, but it either needs more time, or the starter is completely dead.

Also, you have bodily autonomy and don’t *need* to eat anything.

  7. If you want to know what to do, you would have to tell us what you did. Did you make your own starter? When? Where are you storing it? Is it doubling, and how long does it take to double? What method did you use to make bread and what is the temperature in your kitchen?

That bread is pretty much not leavened, so guessing it’s a starter problem, but…

This made me laugh. My husband has to try all of my failed experiments. At least there’s a gem every once in awhile to keep him happy.

That… isn’t bread. You don’t have to eat unproofed dough slabs.

She might be interested in Frieren’s hard brick bread..

When she’s gone you’ll regret this.

either yeast is dead or under proofed. the dough should be doughy, not like wet flour

“Ma, listen….I love you. Let’s start there, ok?”

    “Is this about the bread?”

    “YES IT’S TERRIBLE!”

Use it as hardtack for doomsday preparations.

Ya know… you suffer now, but that just means you won’t have to later. Especially if you join her and ya both start fixing mistakes. My first few came out like Flubber, but it helped. Had a couple like that too. Toasting it… did not help. But hey, bread is fun.

The fact that you’ll keep eating your moms…. Uhhh… bread tells me you are a very loving child and she’s lucky to have you! Even if it appears she’s trying to k!ll you. 🤪

Have you considered, maybe, not eating it?

  18. soph0216

Wait why are you eating it….. you don’t have to do that to yourself just be honest with her 😭

Whenever my sourdough isn’t rising properly, I just add a pinch of instant yeast and wait longer
