A photographer from Phoenix, Arizona, the Fates Bread and Bottle Co. owner Chanelle Sinclair dipped her toe into Portland’s Sellwood-Moreland enclave in 2024 with her wine bar, bottleshop, and bakery. A little more than a year in, the Fates is still evolving to meet the needs of its neighbors, recently adding more cocktail options from Sinclair’s new business partner, Charley Pinck.
Located on this busy corridor, the Fates can be easy to miss. Inside, find an artsy-eclectic meets dark academia aesthetic, complete with a wall of bottles, a library ladder, and a grungy soundtrack. Everything here is vegetarian.
A relaxing snack with a nice glass of wine and a book. Bring a friend and cozy up at one of the tables by the window or in the loungey couch area.
The owner’s dog’s name is Haru. She’s a good girl. The hours can be a bit funky, so keep an eye on the Fates’ socials.
