WARREN, Ohio – Some of Trumbull County’s finest Italian restaurants will be in the spotlight next week for the inaugural Italian Food Trail Restaurant Week.

It’s a new event that is designed to acquaint Valley residents with the vast group of traditional and modern Italian restaurants that exist in the county.

Nine restaurants, pizza shops and bakeries will take part in Italian Food Trail Restaurant Week, which will run March 22-28. Each will offer a special dining option for the week.

Here are the restaurants and their specials:

Bar Tempo, 212 N. Main St., Hubbard: Traditional pasta entree with Bolognese sauce, $13.60.

CharBenay’s Wine on the River, 220 W. Market St., Warren: Two burgers, two fries and a bottle of wine or bucket of beer (price not listed).

Franky’s Pizza and Deli, 125 Scott St. NE, Warren: One large one-topping pizza, one regular appetizer, one pint of Cockeye Creamery ice cream or a Franky’s Italian Ice, $30.

Jimmy’s Italian Specialties, 3230 Belmont Ave., Liberty: 10% off all dry groceries (excluding alcohol) with a $30 minimum.

Pesa Italian Rolls, 5000 E. Market St., Warren: $5 off any purchase of $25 or more.

Sunrise Inn, 510 E. Market St., Warren: Buy two entrees, get an appetizer for free.

Vernon’s Cafe, 720 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles: Special Restaurant Week menu ($45 per person) in effect.

Wedgewood Pizza, 8250 High St. NE, Howland: $5 lunch special (two pizza slices, a 22-ounce fountain drink and chips).

Restaurant Week is presented by Trumbull County Tourism. The stops were selected to take part in the event because they are offering a food special for the week. The county’s Italian Food Trail includes all of the stops and several more.

Guests can pick up an Italian Food Trail passport at any of the participating places or download one from ItalianFoodTrail.com. The passport helps participants keep track of their stops and learn more about each location.

“The Italian Food Trail already connects people to incredible meals and stories across our communities,” said Samantha Ensminger, marketing manager of Trumbull Tourism. “This new Restaurant Week is another reason to gather your friends, support local and make a short trip for dishes that feel like home.”
