If you love baked feta recipes, let me introduce you to one of my absolute favorites from Greek cuisine: Bouyiourdi. This classic dish is essentially baked feta with tomatoes and peppers, roasted until warm, creamy, and bubbling in olive oil (drooling over here!!).
In Greece, Bouyiourdi is the kind of appetizer that lands on the table still sizzling, surrounded by warm bread for scooping. It’s salty, tangy, slightly spicy, and unbelievably simple to make. And while baked feta might feel like a modern trend thanks to TikTok, Greeks have been making this Greek baked feta dish for generations.
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 spicy red pepper, thinly sliced into rounds (remove seeds if desired)
1 beefsteak or garden tomato, thinly sliced
1 tsp dried oregano or to taste
ground pepper to taste
220-225 grams block of quality feta cheese (about 1 1/2 inches thick)
3-4 tbsp of MY extra-virgin olive oil, JUICE!
4-6 large slices of toasted Sourdough for serving

I had the BEST Greek Salad in Milos (Milos is also the location of my profile photo❤) I loved it so much I went on a hunt to recreate it myself back in the States. I loved it so much I snuck some into the movie theatre once and I ate that instead of popcorn.😂 Following you now so I can have more recipes to sneak into the movies. 😆
PLEASE. I need help! I went to Chania on deployment and went to this tiny lil cafe for breakfast (and raki obviously 😅) and I had the most wonderful dish that I cannot find anywhere. It was served on an oval plate, had white ewes cheese that was like liquid GOLD and eggs that were cooked medium but submerged in the liquid cheese. It had toast too and I want this again so bad! I left my heart in Greece!
