Rory McIlroy became just the sixth golfer in men’s history to complete the grand slam, joining the likes of Gene Zarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods, by winning the Masters in 2025.

His reward for winning the Green Jacket, besides a massive sigh of relief and weight off of his shoulders following years of coming up short, McIlroy will join the elites of the sport at the Champions dinner. All previous winners of the event are invited back to the grounds of Augusta National with a menu selected by the previous year’s winner.

Earlier Wednesday morning the Northern Irishman released his menu, highlighted by a few local favorites – and some ridiculously expensive champagne and wine.

The Champions dinner wouldn’t be complete without a few wine and champagne pairings, of which McIlroy spared no expense. He added a 1990 Château Lafite Rothschild from Pauillac in Bordeaux and a 1989 Château d’Yquem from Sauternes in Bordeaux, two bottles that are especially meaningful to the grand slam winner who popped Château Lafite Rothschild after his win.

McIlroy revealed the Château d’Yquem is for his birth year. “And I think every great meal deserves to be finished off with Château d’Yquem. It is like liquid gold,” he said.

Golf reporter Dan Rapaport revealed all four bottles on McIlroy’s wish list, which come from Augusta National’s famed wine cellar, retail for over $530 with the Domaine Leflaive retailing above $2,300.

McIlroy admitted he allowed himself to dream up a potential Masters dinner before curating the iconic meal.

“I think it would be pretty presumptuous to have a menu in your head before you actually win the tournament,” McIlroy said in a conference call Wednesday. “But I always thought about if I win the Masters one day, what would I want it to look like? What would I like to serve?”

The dinner is held on the Tuesday before the Masters, which tees off on April 9.
