A new traditional Italian restaurant is hoping to buck the industry trend and establish itself as a success in Preston.
Ragu Italian Bistro opened on Guildhall Street in the city centre for the first time on Sunday (15 March) in what was previously the site of the restaurant Twist.
And business partners Luca Scognamiglio and Vincenzo Gaglione, both originally from Naples, are hoping they can get through what is a challenging time for hospitality by letting their food do the talking.

They told Blog Preston: “We understand that this is a challenging time for hospitality, so our plan is to stay focused on consistency, quality, and community.
“We believe that by maintaining high standards, listening to our customers, and offering genuine hospitality, we can build something lasting and meaningful in Preston.”
Luca is Ragu’s chef and claims over 20 years of cooking experience across both Europe and America. Vincenzo is in charge of the ‘vision’ for the restaurant.

They are in agreement that they want to create a restaurant that is relaxed, warm, memorable, traditional and authentic.
The front of house is led by Francesco Caparelli.
Ragu is open from midday until 8pm from Wednesday to Monday, and is closed on Tuesday.
