Hyundai Department Store announced on the 22nd that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with La Grande Épicerie, the food hall of France’s Le Bon Marché department store, for gourmet trend exchange and development. This marks the first global partnership between La Grande Épicerie and an Asian department store.

Hyundai Department Store and La Grande Épicerie agreed to collaborate on establishing online and offline sales channels and joint marketing utilizing gourmet content.

Hyundai Department Store plans to introduce global gourmet trends to customers and provide differentiated food culture experiences through this partnership with a leading European department store. The company will introduce approximately 300 private brand (PB) products in Korea, including olive oil, jams, and sauces developed by La Grande Épicerie in collaboration with artisan food producers from various regions of France.

Additionally, the retailer plans to sell approximately 400 products on its online mall, including local food items that are popular in Korea but previously available only through overseas direct purchasing. Hyundai Department Store also said it is considering exhibition and experiential themed events at its stores to introduce French gourmet culture.

“This partnership will serve as an opportunity to exchange global retail trends between companies representing Europe and Asia,” said Chung Ji-young, President of Hyundai Department Store. “We will continue to present various global collaborative content, including French gourmet culture.”
