Benton officers rescue furry dinner guest from Olive Garden parking lot

The Benton Police Department had its hands full on Wednesday when they had a unique call to save a furry friend!

Benton officers were sent to the Olive Garden after they got reports of a “traffic hazard” in the area.

However, once they arrived, they found that the supposed hazard was actually an adorable little Marmot! While typically, Marmots hibernate this time of year, this little fella decided he was ending his hibernation early and came out fighting!

He definitely put up a fight, though, as he dodged cars like a pro, practiced his Frogger skills, and was running wild.

Officers then decided to take the Olive Garden motto of “when you’re here, you’re family” to heart as they worked to safely relocate the marmot to a home with far less Italian food, but that would be much more fitting for him!
