Film, food and flair have come together. British actor Theo James has announced that he is opening his second restaurant, Ornella. Located in Hackney, it is scheduled to open in April, and it will showcase Italian cuisine.
Theo was born in England. He is best known for starring in the HBO TV series The White Lotus as Cameron Sullivan. He has also appeared in The Gentlemen, directed by Guy Ritchie, in which he played Edward Horniman. Plus, he has featured in The Divergent Series, The Time Traveller’s Wife, and Underworld: Blood Wars.
Following the success of Theo’s first restaurant, Lupa, he has once again teamed up with Ed Templeton and Naz Hassan to create the new concept, Ornella.
The team will bring Milanese ristorante vibes to the heart of Hackney. This new spot will feature both indoor and outdoor seating, which includes a terrace on the pavement.
Ornella draws its inspiration from Milan, where Naz was raised. Ed explains: “We could have done a second Lupa, and maybe we will one day, but we wanted to do something even more ambitious here. We can’t wait to see how Naz and his sous chef Sandro bring their talent to another iconic city with such a strong culinary identity.”
While the full menu for Ornella has not yet been unveiled, we do know some of the dishes. These include Risotto alla Milanese, Tagliatelle al Burro e Parmigiano, and Vitello Tonnato. Desserts include Italian Trifle and Zuppa Inglese.
