Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, reportedly impressed staff at a small UK bistro with her “utterly charming” demeanour during a recent visit. The Royal chose to celebrate her 44th birthday last week (January 9) with a low-key meal alongside her mother, Carole Middleton, and sister, Pippa.
The three Middletons dined at The Funghi Club, a “tiny” French bistro that offers patrons a “relaxed and carefree feeling” in Hungerford, Berkshire, much to the delight of those who work at the establishment.
Kate managed to “celebrate her birthday in peace”, unlike her brother-in-law, Prince Harry, and his wife, Meghan Markle, who the “whole world seems to know about” when they dine, according to The Mail’s Richard Eden.
The future Queen left a lasting impression on the small bistro. A member of the staff told Richard: “We had the enormous pleasure of welcoming a rather extraordinary guest. She was utterly charming, gracious and every bit as radiant in person as you’d imagine.”

Further comments about their distinguished visitor revealed that it was “a little moment of magic for our small bistro – and one we won’t forget”.
To coincide with her recent birthday, the Princess of Wales also featured in the final episode of her Mother Nature video series (winter).
In comments that referred to her battle with cancer, Kate expressed that being able to heal in nature had enabled her to “Come to peace with our tears and discover what it means to be alive”.
It marks the culmination of a deeply personal creative endeavour for the Princess of Wales, one that Kensington Palace says highlights our links to the natural world and its ability to inspire us and help us heal.
Initiated in 2025, the project kicked off with the spring episode at the start of Mental Health Awareness Week. In this latest segment, Kate can be seen walking in Berkshire.

She expressed: “Even in the coldest, darkest season, winter has a way of bringing us stillness, patience and quiet consideration. Where the stream slows just enough for us to see our own reflection.
“To discover the deepest parts of ourselves. Alongside the whispers in the pulse of every living thing. I find myself reflecting on how deeply grateful I am.
“For the rivers within us flow with ease, fears washed away, cleanse and purify. Come to peace with our tears and discover what it means to be alive. To be at one with nature; a quiet teacher and a soft voice that guides. In memory. Helping us to heal.”
In addition to this, parts of the footage from the video were reportedly also captured by Will Warr in London, East Sussex, Cumbria, Gloucestershire, and the Cotswolds.
