Was trying to tackle a sweet tooth with minimal ingredients led me to hacking sweet dou hua.

If you’re unfamiliar, if’s a tofu pudding dessert you can find in Taiwan etc, made from silken tofu covered in simple syrup reduction usually infused with tons of ginger and citrus.

I only had extra form tofu and blood orange spindrift on hand so whipped together a simple syrup by melting brown sugar then adding spindrift and tons of ginger paste.

Probably a better way to do it but it was hella satisfying

This actually sounds so good – we have “to fu fa” (maybe dou fu fa is better pronunciation?) in Chinese culture, its pretty much the same thing and one of my favorite desserts, just always wayyyy too sweet… never thought of making it myself!
