Decided to put out a can with some packs of sugar snaps since I bought a pound of seeds and there's no way I could plant them all. I bought some blank seed cards last season for saving pepper seeds and such, so I had a bunch of those too. Growing gardens grows communities. Working out in the yard I've met more neighbors and spent more time chatting in the years previous when I just kept up with mowing and the leaves.

I donate mine to the public library.
There’s a farm near me that has free programs for kids where they start a plant and take it home after learning about the care it needs, maybe there is something like that near you? Sometimes libraries will hold seed swaps as well
Do some guerrilla gardening! Carry them with you you and toss them into empty lots.
You might try putting them in a local free pantry or fridge for the community! Maps below!

Save some for subsequent plantings. They can last for years if stored properly.
Thanks for doing this. If everyone did this then the world would be a much better place. Dont get discouraged if you get a shiester that nabs them all lol. I like to put my tomatoes out for free and one year a van pulled up and the amish got out and grabbed all the tomatoes on the table. They put them in their own farm stand for sale lol. I was so angry about it that i stopped putting stuff out for a while. Now i just put a sign that says save some for others and not for resale lol.
Are there any community centres/community gardens in your area? I know ours accepts donated seeds, same with the public library seed library (so cool!)
Alternatively, I just discovered r/seedswap! Someone over there might be interested.
Does your community have a Buy Nothing list or Facebook page? I give away a lot of excess seedlings and seeds to neighbors this way. (And also they hook me up in return when they have something that I want!)
My local library actually has an old card catalog filled with free seeds
My towns gardening club is in cahoots with the library and we do a seed exchange/plant swap every May.
This is so cool!
While giving them away is great, they don’t go bad if you keep them. The germination rate just goes down. I have some pepper seedlings right now that are from seed I bought 4 years ago!
