For the past decade, I've used the traeger lil tex 22. it's been fine and got the job done. Small so I couldn't do much on it. This past Christmas I decided to treat myself to a new smoker. So I ended up buying the Recteq Backyard beast. I did a burn in and have maybe used it 3-4 times. Work has been keeping me way too busy to do more with it. Fast forward to about 2 weeks ago, I won a Weber Searwood xl 600. I did the burn in last night after I got off work. ill be getting rid of the traeger for sure. but now I have 2 new, comparable smokers. I was struggling back in December going through all sorts of reddit posts on which to buy. Now im trying to figure out which to sell. any help on the pros and cons of each would help me greatly.

I say sell all three and get a lone star grillz pellet smoker 😉
Keep the RecTeq!
I love my searwood. Its great that you can get the rotisserie, griddle inserts (although it is a bit of a pain to griddle with smoke in your face), and most weber accessories. Pretty easy to clean too. (Easier than my old traeger)
Weber Searwood: This is the closest a pellet grill gets to a gas‑like sear. So it’s kinda like having a very versatile grill.. can get you that searing action. If you can keep them both why not if you’re a pellet smoker.. just gives you more volume to work with if you’ve got the space!
If not I’d be hard pressed to get rid of the recteq but I do love to sear so I’d be thinking about keeping just the Weber. I’ve been reading great things.
I’m a big Recteq fan. I own a 1250 and a BYB 1200. Like them both. That being said, the Searwood is a very compelling grill with its ability for direct flame. That’s the only feature that I think differentiates them. If that’s appealing to you, it might be a better “all in one” grill.
On the other side, if you haven’t cooked on the Searwood yet you’ll get more $$$ for it than a used Recteq.
Why not use them both for a little while and then decide which one you like better??
Searwood is king.
If I had to choose: Searwood. More versatile.
This is so Reddit. Taking advice from people who own 0 to 1 of the 3 in question when you have them all at your disposal.
You should be giving the advice, not seeking it.
Even if you’re not giving advice, what is better guidance than first hand experience? What do you like or dislike about each?
We all want to know.
You don’t want to keep the Searwood. You should get rid of it. Since I’m such a nice guy, I’ll get rid of it for you. Just give me your address and I’ll come pick it up. It’ll be my good deed of the day.
Keep left, send other 2 to me
Oh no my lobster is too buttery!
Loljk but the Searwood for sure. You’d know better than me as I have a PB pro series but I’ve seen so much love for the Searwood.
Why 3 pellet grills? I have a Weber kettle, kamado and a reqtec bullseye. Done for now.
Bro just decide on your own 😭
Definitely keep the Recteq!!!
I’d say a cook off should decide.. brisket in each and whichever tastes better… winner..
(I do love my Searwood)
I’d go searwood
